School of Environmental Engineering visited Jelutong Wastewater Treatment Plant.
It is the largest Sewerage Treatment Plant in Malaysia.
Jelutong Sewage Treatment Plant has the area approximately 14.7 hectares with the supported capacity of 1.2 million population equivalent.
Jelutong Sewage Treatment Plant are using Sequencing Batch Reactor to treat the sewage and using Anaerobic Digester to treat the sludge. It has 12 SBR (Sequencing Batch Reactor) which every SBR are as large as Olympic Swimming Pool.
Jelutong Sewage Treatment Plant able to intake 180,000m3/day of sewage and its maximum sewage is around 270,000m3/day.

3. Tanjung Bungah
5. Air Itam
Screening Process which is Primary Treatment Process.
It screens out all the large objects.
